Kate practices in commercial, common law and employment and industrial law at both the trial and appellate level.

Kate recently appeared at the reopened Hazelwood Mine Fire Inquiry.

Prior to coming to the Bar, Kate was a researcher in the Trial Division of the Supreme Court of Victoria and, prior to that, the Associate to the Honourable Justice Philip Mandie in both the Trial Division and the Court of Appeal.  At the Supreme Court, Kate worked on a wide range of matters including the Great Southern proceedings, trusts and estates disputes, tax appeals and a wide variety of civil and criminal appeals.  

Kate was recently in New York where she worked at Baker & Hostetler LLP on the Bernard Madoff bankruptcy and also at Deutsche Bank in compliance.

Prior to working at the Supreme Court, Kate worked at Slater & Gordon Lawyers in both personal injury and commercial litigation.

Kate is fluent in French and read with Hamish Redd.

Petrevski v North West Air Conditioning Pty Ltd [2015] VCC 642 - SERIOUS INJURY APPLICATION - Acted for a plaintiff who sought leave to bring proceedings for damages for work injuries, leave granted.

Nguyen v Phan (2015) - Trial in the Supreme Court of Victoria, acted for plaintiff individuals and a company, issues included express trusts, fiduciary duties, oppression, claims under theCorporations Act 2001 (led by Hamish Redd and Ian Waller QC).  See also Nguyen v Phan[2015] VSC 32: COMMERCIAL LAW - PRACTICE AND PROCEDURE. 

Bob Jane Corporation Pty Ltd & Anor v Robert Frederick Jane & Anor [2014] VSC 27 - JURISDICTION - CROSS-VESTING - Acted for Laree Jane regarding an application to transfer a proceeding to the Family Court of Australia (led by Philip Corbett QC).

Super A-Mart Pty Ltd v NUW & Ors [2014] VSC 130: INDUSTRIAL LAW - Acted for Super A-Mart regarding injunctions to restrain members of the NUW and others from engaging in unprotected industrial action. Representative orders made (led by Patrick Wheelahan).

Dagli v Suncorp [2013] VCC 2036: COMMON LAW - SERIOUS INJURY APPLICATION - Acted for a plaintiff who sought leave to bring proceedings for damages for work injuries, leave granted (led by Richard McGarvie QC).

Sakellaris v Achievement Cleaning Services Pty Ltd  (2013) - JURY TRIAL - Acted for plaintiff, work injuries.
