Suzanne is a successful and experienced litigation barrister and nationally accredited mediator (NMAS). She is skilled in advocacy and public speaking, mediation and negotiation. Her strengths include being able to quickly identify, and then not lose sight of, the crucial issues in a dispute, bearing in mind all of the practical, commercial, emotional and legal points of view.

As a barrister, her major area of practice is building and construction law, including insurance and professional disciplinary matters. Since coming to the bar she has appeared regularly for owners, builders, architects, engineers and indemnity and warranty insurers, in domestic and commercial construction cases at VCAT, in the courts, and in commercial arbitrations. She also appears before the Building Appeals Board and formerly the Building Practitioners’ Board. Prior to coming to the Bar she was Company Solicitor of the Housing Guarantee Fund for 5 years. A copy of her CV listing many of her notable cases is available on request.

As a mediator, Suzanne has assisted in the resolution of many commercial disputes referred to her from the courts and privately. She participated in over 400 mediations and assesses in the nationally accredited mediator course run by the Victorian Bar.

She works in both the private and public sector, with a sound knowledge of administrative law, governmental regulations and consumer protection aims. She is also in demand as a speaker and educator of other lawyers. In her spare time she has become involved in a number of not-for-profit boards and heads up various professional and social committees.
