Fiona is a Senior Counsel at the Victorian Bar practising in the areas of commercial, public and common law. She signed the bar roll in 1991 and was appointed silk in 2003.

Fiona appears regularly in the Supreme Court of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia in trials, including jury trials, and appeals. She led the class action into the Murrindindi Black Saturday bushfires and is leading the Commonwealth legal team in the Royal Commission into Institutional Child Sex Abuse.

She led the Commonwealth team in the Queensland Floods Commission of Inquiry in 2011-2012 and also the Victorian Bushfires Royal Commission in 2009-2010 working closely with the Attorney General’s Department to represent the interests of the Commonwealth across the whole of government. 

In recent years Fiona has been briefed in criminal matters, for defence and by the Commonwealth DPP to prosecute matters under the commonwealth criminal code.

Fiona studied law at the University of Melbourne, and has completed a Masters of Public and International Law. She has completed the Company Directors Course with the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
